We love Llama Llama books over here! The simple rhyming text keeps little ones engaged while teaching a lesson.
It’s a great back to school book for preschoolers. In this book, Llama Llama prepares for school. There are great talking points for parents and children throughout the book. You can do this by pointing out all the different elements of school in the illustrations!
The book provides a great introduction to what going to school can look like! It also does a good job introducing activities at school like reading, crafts, music, and more.
03. Children’s Book Explaining School Drop-Offs
While this book isn’t your typical back to school book, it provides the opportunity to talk about drop off. It uses simple language to explain drop-off (bye bye time).
The book reinforces drop-off is not forever. “Hello again” will be coming soon. It’s great for preparing your little one for the drop-off process and helping them cope. You can reassure them someone will be back to pick them up at the end of the day!

In the end, Llama Llama is brave and starts to participate in the activities at school. He is glad when he realizes his Mama will always come back to pick him up!
I love this book for talking about school activities. It’s great for reinforcing that Mama (Daddy, or another caregiver!) will always come back at pickup, too.
