When shopping for kids’ clothing, I always look for cotton. I love cotton clothing for my kids because it’s breathable, comfortable, and absorbent. It’s also easy to wash and maintain.
If I can find baby & toddler clothes made with organic cotton, even better! You may be thinking, does the organic label really matter when it comes to cotton?
I prefer organic cotton because it is:
Free from harsh chemicals, waxes, and formaldehyde
Gentle on sensitive skin and hypoallergenic
More eco-friendly option as it needs less water to grow
It’s important to note - all cotton clothing (conventional and organic) is durable and made to last! It washes well and holds up to rough toddler play.
When given the option, I would always choose cotton over polyester for my little ones’ skin! Polyester is a type of plastic. It’s a synthetic fabric. I choose to prioritize dressing my little ones in cotton and natural fibers when possible to avoid additional exposure to plastics.
